OFFICERS AND EXECUTIVE BOARD
I'm an Inspector III in the Environmental Protection Bureau, I oversee the restricted materials permit program in the San Fernando Valley (District 20). Prior to my current assignment, I enjoyed four years in the Pest Exclusion/ Produce Quality Bureau as a member of the Direct Marketing team. I have been with the ACWM team since 2014 and an active union member since 2015.
I currently work at the Quarantine Desk for the departments Pest Exclusion/ Produce Quality Bureau, managing high risk and nursery inspections. Prior to this I worked as a district inspector, conducting inspections on incoming shipments for pests, issuing phytosanitary certificates and inspecting nurseries. Other divisions I have had the opportunity to work in have been Direct Marketing and the Scales Division in the Weight & Measures Bureau.
I'm an Inspector II in the Pest Exclusion/Produce Quality Bureau. For the past two years I have been a part of the Direct Marketing team. Prior to that, I worked in Price Verification in the Weights and Measures Bureau. Conducting production site inspections is one of my favorite job duties.
I am currently a supervisor for the Pest Detection team in North Station. Prior to my current position, I worked in Weights and Measures under the meter division for 5 years before transferring to Pest Regulation for about a year. I have been lucky to have worked under and among fellow union members that have made working for the county exciting, fulfilling, and rewarding. Also, I am responsible for supervising a bunch of guys that inspect traps for fruit flies that are detrimental to LA county agriculture.
I'm an Inspector II and have been with the County for 4 years as a Weights and Measures Inspector, assigned to the Weighing Devices Division. I have been an elected member of the union for the past 3 years and encourage others to participate to help strengthen and diversify the unions' goals. My favorite union events are the end of the year holiday gatherings where all union members are invited for an evening of fun and socialization.
I am an Agricultural Inspector Aid. I have worked at the Los Angeles County Agriculture Commissioner/Weights and Measures Department in the Pest Detection Division for 5 years, and became a trustee of the union less than a year ago. Pest Detection establishes and inspects traps for exotic fruit fly, beetle and moth pests. I have a Master of Science in Entomology, and being an Inspector Aid gives me a chance to use my knowledge of insects. It is my pleasure being a part of the Pest Detection and Union team.
